Barber Shop Appointment Management System
I spearheaded the development of SnipQ, a SaaS-based barbershop appointment management system designed to streamline operations and enhance customer experiences. This project involved collaborating with 14 barbershops to tailor the software to their specific needs, ensuring a seamless transition from their existing booking methods.
The successful implementation of SnipQ across 14 stores demonstrates my ability to deliver high-quality SaaS solutions that address real-world business challenges. I'm particularly proud of the positive feedback received from barbers who praised the system's user-friendliness and its positive impact on their business.
Project Overview
SnipQ offers a comprehensive suite of features, including online booking, automated appointment reminders, customer relationship management, and integrated payment processing. By automating routine tasks and providing real-time appointment visibility, SnipQ helped these barbershops reduce no-shows, optimize staff schedules, and improve overall efficiency.
My Role
My role in the SnipQ project encompassed the entire UX design process. From conducting initial user research to understand the needs of barbers and their clients, to designing intuitive interfaces and workflows, I ensured a user-centered approach throughout the development lifecycle. This included creating prototypes, conducting usability testing, and collaborating closely with developers to implement the final design, resulting in a seamless and efficient user experience for SnipQ.
Adhering to ISO 9241-210 guidelines, the design process for SnipQ was deeply rooted in a user-centered philosophy. I prioritized understanding user needs and preferences (in this case interviewed shop managers) through extensive research and client interviews. This user-centric approach guided every stage of the design, ensuring the final product effectively addressed pain points and delivered a seamless user experience.
Research & Planning
Conducted market research to identify existing scheduling challenges and user preferences. Defined target audience segments and outlined key features based on user needs and market trends.
Design & Prototyping
Created intuitive user interfaces and interactive prototypes. Iteratively refined designs based on user feedback to enhance usability and visual appeal.
Implementation
Leveraged agile development methodologies in this case acted as the Scrum master to build the scheduling app from the ground up. Prioritized feature development based on user feedback and technical feasibility.
Testing & Optimization
Conducted rigorous testing across various devices and platforms to ensure compatibility and performance. Gathered user feedback through beta testing and iteratively optimized the app based on usability metrics and user satisfaction.

Enable clients to easily book appointments online 24/7, choosing their preferred barber, service, and time slot. This feature reduces phone calls and allows barbers to manage their schedules efficiently.
Analytics Dashboard
Provides valuable insights into business performance with key metrics like revenue, popular services, and client retention rates. This data-driven approach allows barbers to make informed decisions to optimize their business.
Interactive Calendar View
Offers a clear and intuitive calendar view of appointments, allowing barbers to manage their schedules, add walk-in appointments, and track staff availability in real-time.

Increased Efficiency
SnipQ streamlined appointment management by allowing clients to book online and automating reminders, freeing up staff time previously spent on phone calls and manual reminders. This allowed barbers to focus more on providing excellent service and less on administrative tasks.
Reduced Appointment no-shows
Automated appointment reminders significantly decreased no-shows and last-minute cancellations. This resulted in better staff utilization, optimized chair time, and increased revenue for the barbershops as appointment slots were less likely to be wasted.
Improved Customer Experience
SnipQ's online booking system provided clients with the convenience of scheduling appointments 24/7. This improved accessibility and satisfaction, leading to increased customer loyalty and positive word-of-mouth referrals for the barbershops.
